This project is a replacement for the current St Louis fire station no.29. it focuses on efficient circulation centered around the truck bay and community space as well as the combination of different programs such as the training area and community space. impenetrable and translucent materials dominate the exterior while soft and transparent materials explain the interior.
Accordion doors allow the use of spaces to be flexible and spaces open to below keep rooms throughout the building connected while providing opportunities for firefighter training. A program centered around the primarily utilized spaces such as the truck bay and lounge keeps access to the vehicles a priority.
Slits In the facade bring light into spaces where it's needed and separate programs such as residential and training.
Material studies, form studies, and a chunk model helped to inform the final design of the project
